About us
The research center was founded in 2020 as an interdepartmental center within the Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM). The Center aims to promote the knowledge, development and dissemination of minimally invasive and trans-catheter cardiac surgery.
In this area, its activity consists in designing and implementing research projects in the fields of new devices, techniques and technology development, health technology assessment, health management, artificial intelligence, 3D modeling, computational and experimental models for fluid/hemodynamic analysis and valve functional testing. Moreover, the Center promotes clinical trials, teaching and scientific dissemination activities.

Strategic goals
- Innovation, through the development of new techniques/technologies in the field of minimally invasive and trans-catheter cardiac surgery (valve surgery, aneurysms, myocardial revascularization, etc.), transcatheter hybrid treatment of the main cardiac arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia), anesthesia and minimally invasive perfusion techniques.
- Research, promoting the creation of projects and research groups nationally and internationally and helping to increase the scientific literature on the specific sector with publications of international interest.
- Education, providing educational and training programs (courses, seminars, masters, proctoring activities, national and international congresses) for various professional figures such as cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, interns, perfusionists, and others.
- Partnership, creating a solid internal and external professional network, through collaboration relationships with other National and International Universities and Medical Industries. The Center, therefore, plans to strengthen and implement, through specific agreements or contracts, collaboration and consultancy relationships with other subjects of the Polytechnic University of Marche, other national and foreign universities, with the University Hospital – Ospedale Riuniti di Ancona, with the Regional Health Service, with other public and private subjects, companies.
